By Eric J. Westendorf January 17, 2008 (Sarver, PA) In a move to bring more regional and national attention to its drivers and divisions, effective immediately, the Lernerville Speedway has teamed up with DIRTcar Racing to sanction both the Friedman’s Freshmarkets Late Models and Advance Auto Parts Pure Stocks. In the current UMP DIRTcar Racing terminology, the Friedman’s Freshmarkets Late Models will now be the Friedman’s Freshmarkets DIRTcar Super Late Models. Whereas, the Advance Auto Parts Pure Stocks will now be renamed the Advance Auto Parts UMP DIRTcar Street Stocks. Lernerville rules for each division will remain unchanged. UMP DIRTcar license is $100 for the Super Late Models and $75 for the Street Stocks. At the recent national UMP DIRTcar banquet, over $450,000 was distributed to nearly 1000 drivers. The National UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model Championship is $20,000 to win, with the 100th place in points paying $100. The State Super Late Model Championship is $600, with 10th place paying $100, (equal to the price of the license). The Super Late Models are also run for a Regional Points Fund, which pays $3000 to win and $100 for 20th. The National UMP DIRTcar Street Stock Championship pays $3000 to win, with 20th place paying $100. And like the Super Late Models, the State Championship pays $600 to win and $100 for 10th place. Again, these amounts are the minimum payouts and are in addition to the current Lernerville-Budweiser points fund. Lernerville will maintain the 2007 track tire rule for 2008 with the UMP DIRTcar branded tires added as an option.
