Another Fast Friday of Fab Four Racing on tap with Fire, Police & EMS Night
Turner’s Premium Iced Tea TeaBird to make Lernerville debut!
Virtual Three-Way tie in Peoples TWP Sprints Budweiser Point Standings
Sarver, PA (May 22, 2013) If you’re ready for another Fast Friday of Fab Four Racing and thirsty for some FREE Turner’s Premium Iced Tea, then Lernerville Speedway is the place to be this Friday, May 24. The fine folks from Turner Dairy Farms will be on hand with the Turner’s Premium Iced TeaBird; a 1965 Ford Thunderbird retro-fitted with a cooler in the trunk for sampling. The TeaBird will be on display near the main gate for sampling of some new and popular flavors of Turner’s Premium Iced Tea before the races and then pace the Fab Four features later in the night.
Friday Night is Fire, Police & EMS Night as we pay tribute to the selfless men and women that protect and keep our communities safe. All Firemen, Policemen (and women) & EMTs will be admitted for just $7 with valid ID.
The Peoples TWP Sprints will be back at the front of the rotation Friday Night and the points couldn’t be any closer; a virtual three-way tie between Eric Williams, Brandon Spithaler and Jack Sodeman Jr.! Eric Williams and Brandon Spithaler sit at 91 points, with Open Night feature winner Sodeman just one point back with 90. All Star Cap Henry and All Time division wins leader Ed Lynch Jr. have dropped in the past two events to steal feature wins, but the battle between Williams, Spithaler and Sodeman could last all season, with Carl Bowser and Brandon Matus looking to shake off bad starts and jump in the title mix as well!
Popular veteran driver Scott Priester picked up a thrilling feature win last weekend at Mercer Raceway Park in a last lap/restart pass of Eric Williams who suffered a broken and flipped back front wing. Scott drives Martha Dionise’s #15 sprinter at Mercer, but will be back behind the wheel of his own #11 on Friday Night looking for his first Action Track feature win since 2000! Congrats to Scott and the entire Dionise/Priester Racing team on the thrilling win!
Defending Track Champion Jared Miley won a green-to-checkers Precise Late Model feature last Friday Night, holding off Budweiser Points leader Dave Hess Jr. to score his first feature win of 2013. Hess won the Opening Night feature and “The Juice” Davey Johnson won round two. You never know which regional drivers are going to show up for the Precise Late Model feature, but one thing is for sure; the field will be loaded both in quantity and quality! Hess (111) leads Miley (101) by 10 markers and John Garvin Jr. (100) is just one point behind Miley.
Canadian sensation Mat Williamson has a pair of feature wins and was runner-up to last Friday’s feature winner, Defending Track Champion and All Time division wins leader Brian Swartzlander; not a bad start to his first Lernerville campaign. Williamson (112) leads the Budweiser points by 19/20 points over a trio of drivers; Jeremiah Shingledecker (93), Dave Murdick (92) and Jim Weller Jr. (92). After being DQed for being light at the scales on Opening Night, Swartzlander has rallied to sixth in points with 87, just six points out of second place and 25 behind Williamson.
Defending Track Champion Corey McPherson’s new GM Performance 604 crate engine is the talk of the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Sportsman division! He’s won the past two features after an Opening Night win by veteran and former Track Champion Bob Egley. McPherson (117) leads the Budweiser Points over an upstart Brett McDonald (92), third generation star AJ Flick (91) and an inspired Mark Sanders (90). McDonald is enjoying the best start to a season of his young career and looks poised to crack into Sheetz Victory Lane in the near future and make a run at his first Track Championship. AJ Flick also has eyes on a Track Championship; a feat both his father and grandfather accomplished. Mark Sanders, like Brett McDonald, is enjoying a terrific start to the season and would love nothing more than to claim the Approved Toilet Rental Checkered Flag in Sheetz Victory Lane Friday Night for his first career feature win at the Action Track.
