BOSS Wingless Sprints and RUSH Doubleheader follows Firecracker 100 weekend

BOSS Wingless Sprints and RUSH Doubleheader follows Firecracker 100 weekend

Sarver, PA (July 3, 2014) With another amazing Firecracker 100 weekend in the books, the BOSS Wingless Sprints take center stage this Friday, July 4 along with another RUSH Doubleheader.  The RUSH Late Model Series has been an integral part of the Lernerville Speedway since its inception and the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds made their debut earlier this season.

The Buckeye Machine Buckeye Wingless Outlaw Sprint Series, or BOSS for short, made their Lernerville debut last season with Jack Sodeman Jr. taking the feature win.  Defending Lernerville Track Champion Brandon Spithaler will be back behind the wheel of the Tom Burkey #57B Superior Tank & Trailer sprinter and currently sits third in BOSS points.  Defending BOSS Champion Tony Beaber and his father, Hall of Famer Johnny Beaber will return to their old stomping grounds as well.

Mike Miller, (no not our multi-tasking Sportsman driver, but he may be in action too), leads the BOSS Points over Michael Fischesser by just 14 points.  According to the BOSS Website: Other Ohio drivers chasing the tour points will include Chuck Wilson, Derek Hastings, Aaron Middaugh, Chad Wilson, Scott Hardman and Andy Fike.  Keystone state BOSS regulars will include Bob McMillin, Adam Miller and Joe Butera.  The Hoosier state will be represented by Dustin Smith, Logan Hupp and Joe Ligouri.  Fans of Fab Four Racing can also expect a decent field of Fast Friday regulars taking their wings off.

The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series will roll into the Action Track as part of the Bill Emig Memorial "Wild Card Weekend" presented by Bilstein Shock Absorbers with each night paying $1,500 to-win. In addition, the Bill Emig Memorial "Wild Card Weekend" presented by Bilstein Shock Absorbers will also offer a $1,500 point fund with $500 going to the champion and paying down five positions!

West Virginia teen Ryan Montgomery enters the weekend as the Sweeney Tour point leader, but is still looking for his first feature win of the season.  Former Precise Late Model regular Jason Rider is now following the RUSH tour and returns to the Action Track with a bevy of experience.  He currently sits second in points.  Dan Angelicchio won the first RUSH Late Model feature of the season at Lernerville on May 9 and is coming off a solid performance in the 8th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com.

Coming off a record high car count last Saturday at Sharon Speedway, the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will make their second appearance of the season in an event presented by VP Small Engines Fuels.  Friday's event will mark the eighth of the year as part of the inaugural season.  To date there have been five different winners in seven events as only Adam Hilton has been able to win multiple events.  Hilton actually won three straight capturing the first shows at Lernerville, Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway, and Raceway 7.  Other winners include Jordan Eck, Greg Martin, Jeremy Zufall, and most recently Rocky Kugel.

Hilton of Buffalo, NY has the Sweeney Weekly Series point lead by 16 over Kugel.  At the end of the season, drivers’ best 10 finishes will be used to determine the $10,000+ point fund with $3,000 going to the Series champion.  The RUSH Mods are scheduled to return to the Action Track in two weeks on Friday, July 18 and again as part of Autumn-Motive Fest 2014 on Saturday, September 6 and the season ending DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, October 23-24-25.

Following in a tradition started by the late, great Don Martin, Lernerville Speedway will not have a fireworks display for the Fourth of July; we leave that to our friends at the local fire departments this weekend!

Fab Four Racing returns next Friday, July 11 on Youth Sports and Autism Speaks Night.  Carl Bowser, Alex Ferree, Rex King Jr. and Jim Fosnaught will enter the event as Budweiser Points leaders.  By virtue of winning the Mid-Season Championship, Brandon Matus is already locked into the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 15.  Bowser can lock in as well by leaving July 11’s Fab Four program as the Budweiser Points leader.

Speaking of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, the Twin 30s are less than two weeks away and anticipation for the return of the Greatest Show on Dirt is at a fever pitch as the Salute to the King Tour will mark the final Silver Cup of Steve Kinser’s career as a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series tour regular.  Yes, The King is retiring from the grueling tour at the end of the season, so we will be showing our appreciation to what he has meant to the speedway for the past few decades.

Advanced Reserved tickets for the Silver Cup can be purchased 24/7 on our website, www.Lernerville.com or by calling the Speedway office from 10:00AM-4:00PM Monday through Friday at (724) 353-1511.  The $39 Advanced Reserved ticket also includes a FREE Fan Pit Pass for the night.
