Autumn-Motive Fest Recap & Full Enduro Results

Back to School Bus & Kids Bike Races Preview

Sarver, PA (September 12, 2013) In the interest of full disclosure; Saturday Night races wreak havoc on the schedule of a Friday Night race track’s Public Relations Director. Especially when said PR Director doubles as the announcer, triples as the trophy “girl” and the start of the NFL season factors into the equation. All that said, herein you will find a more complete recap of last Saturday’s Autumn-Motive Fest Sportsman/Stock Spectacular, a complete rundown of the Enduro 100 results and a preview of this weekend’s upcoming “Back to School” Bus & Kids Bike Races with Senior Series Stocks, Figure 8s and a Demolition Derby.

The $2,000-to-win Sportsman/Stock is the marquee event for the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman division. And since it is akin to a World of Outlaws event for the Sprints & Late Models, the Sportsman/Stocks went four-wide with fireworks sparking up from the infield before the A-Main went green. 2011 Track Champion Mike Miller won the dash and was scheduled to start on the pole, but scratched from the A-Main. By now, you are certainly aware that Joe Kelley scored the $2,000 payday, but Rusty Martz, AJ Flick and Chris Schneider were all in the mix early. Martz and Flick made heavy contact coming off turn four that resulted in Flick getting stuffed into the wall and requiring a tow truck ride to the pits. Martz never really recovered from the contact either to pose a serious challenge to Kelley. That left just Chris Schneider standing between “Super Joe” and Lernerville career win #45. Schneider himself was looking for Lernerville win #20, but despite leading several laps and posing the most serious challenge to Kelley, Schneider eventually succumbed to mechanical/electrical issue and Kelley ran away with the 30-lapper.

Two-time event winner Rusty Martz hung around to finish second ahead of Paul Schreckengost, who matched his best finish of the season in third. Tim Bish finished fourth ahead of the Brothers Fosnaught; Jason in fifth and Jimmy in sixth. Rob Shook, Pat Hanley, Colton Gearhart and Ray Hickok Jr. rounded out the top ten. Heats went to Rusty Martz, Joe Kelley, Mike Miller and Dan Smeal; Miller also won the dash. B-Main winners were Nate Smith and Joey Zambotti, while the non-winners race was won by Rookie Aaron Easler.

This Saturday, September 14 is “Back to School” Bus and Kids Bike Races plus Senior Series Stocks, Figure 8s and a Demolition Derby. Gates – both pits and stands – open at 4:00 with racing scheduled for a 6:00 start. Family friendly pricing is set at $11 for adults, $7 for seniors, $4 for students 11-17 and, as always, kids 10 and under are admitted FREE into General Admission.

Next Saturday, September 21 the “Greatest Show on Dirt” returns for the $10,000-to-win Commonwealth Clash featuring the World of Outlaws STP Sprints. Former Track Champions turned travelling All Stars Tim Shaffer, Danny Holtgraver and last year’s Clash winner Dale Blaney are set to defend their home turf against Donny Schatz, Darryn Pittman, Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, et al. Tickets are available 24/7 at Lernerville.com and all advanced tickets include a FREE fan pit pass upgrade!
