Jack Sodeman Jr. goes back-to-back with BOSS Wingless Sprint win

Josh Double upsets RUSH Elite to take the checkers, Lake takes Dash, Wrightsman NQ Race

AJ Flick survives wild & wooly Sportsman feature; chugs Turner’s Premium Victory Iced Tea

Sarver, PA (July 5, 2013) Jack Sodeman Jr. scored his second straight Sprint Car win on Friday Night; kind of.  Sodeman won the most recent Peoples TWP Sprint feature on Friday, June 21 during the Mid-Season Championships and then backed it up Friday Night with the BOSS Wingless Sprint feature; his third win of the Season at Lernerville Speedway and with the BOSS series.  Josh Double scored a mild upset by winning the deep and talented RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series feature.  12-year old Michael Lake from the Dash and Jamie Wrightsman won the non-qualifiers race.  AJ Flick survived a wild and wooly Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman feature that included a first lap pile-up then later three and four-car battles for the lead with Joe Kelley, Jim Fosnaught and Mike Miller.  The win was also a big coup in the Budweiser Points as leader Corey McPherson was a victim of the first lap caution and scored a DNF in 22nd.

Uncle Sam 30 Race Report - Russ King outslides Boom Briggs to $3,000 Uncle Sam 30 payday

Russ King outslides Boom Briggs to $3,000 Uncle Sam 30 payday

Sarver, PA (July 2, 2013) Those that headed for the parking lot or their camper after Josh Richards’ dominant win in the wildly entertaining 7th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com missed another great show in the Uncle Sam 30 presented by Turner’s Premium Iced Tea.  The non-qualifiers race is part of what makes the Firecracker 100 weekend a Crown Jewel event on the Dirt Late Model scene as even those that fail to qualify for the $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100 A-Main still have a chance to salvage a decent finish to the weekend!

Firecracker 100 Local Perspective - Gregg Satterlee leads the way for the “home team”

Firecracker 100 Local Perspective - Gregg Satterlee leads the way for the “home team”

Sarver, PA (July 2, 2013) As always, the local and regional Late Model drivers came out in droves to support the three-day Firecracker 100 weekend and the results were a mixed bag!  For some drivers, just being in competition is enough; to be part of the biggest Late Model racing weekend in Pennsylvania is a mission accomplished.  For others, they want to measure themselves against the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the country and race into the A-Mains.  But for guys like Gregg Satterlee, Dave Hess Jr. and Davey Johnson, they want to equal the feats of Ed Lynch Jr., Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney in the Sprint Car division by defending their home turf and adding a World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main win at Lernerville Speedway to their resume.  And while no local driver has conquered that mountain, Gregg Satterlee came the closest of any driver yet!

Fab Four Mid-Season Championship Quick Results 6.21

Jack Sodeman Jr. dominates the Peoples TWP Sprint feature; locked into Silver Cup
Ferree and Shingledecker notch first wins of 2013 and score Firecracker & Kodiak Memorial provisionals
Corey McPherson drives away with his fourth Pic-A-Part Sportsman feature of the season

Sarver, PA (June 21, 2013) Jack Sodeman Jr. had a triumphant reversal of fortune Friday Night by winning the Peoples TWP DIRTcar Sprints Mid-Season Championship just a week after a nasty flip ended his night early and junked the chassis.  Behind the wheel of a new XXX Chassis, Sodeman led all 25 laps of a caution-free feature.  Sodeman’s Mid-Season Championship locks him into the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXII Twin 30s in July.  Budweiser Points leader Mat Williamson started on the outside pole of the Diehl Mods feature, but Jeremiah Shingledecker roared from fourth on the grid, passed Williamson on a mid-race restart and then drove to his first feature win of the season.  Alex Ferree started on the pole to the Precise Late Model A-Main and never looked back on the way to his first feature win of the season and in doing so secured a starting position in next Saturday Night’s Firecracker 100 A-Main.  Corey McPherson continued his domination of the Pic-A-Part Sportsman division with his fourth win in seven races, but had to fight off a spirited charge from Mike Miller mid-race to do so.  And now nothing remains between now and the 7th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com except five grueling days waiting for Thursday and dozens of the best Late Model drivers in the country to roll into Sarvertown for the three-night megashow!

Fab Four Race Report 6.14 - Garvin & Williams win first of 2013

John Garvin Jr. maintains hold on points lead while scoring first win of 2013
Eric Williams wins a spirited battle over Carl Bowser; three reds mar feature
Repeat winners Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson dominate from pole to checkers

Sarver, PA (June 16, 2013) The Fab Four features on either side of the Holiday Races fireworks display were more like hand-to-hand combat between a pair of drivers than they were between an entire field of cars trying to get to Sheetz Victory Lane.  Though he dominated the Precise Late Model feature, John Garvin Jr. had brief but serious challenge from Michael Norris midrace.  Eric Williams won a furious battle with Carl Bowser through lapped traffic and had to endure three red flag sessions to score his first win of the season.  After another incredible fireworks show from the folks at Legendary Entertainment, Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson led their respective features from green-to-checkers, but had to fend off the advances of Mat Williamson and AJ Flick to seal the deal.

John Garvin Jr. and Eric Williams pick up first wins of 2103
Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson dominate as repeat winners
Another amazing pyrotechnic masterpiece on #1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night!

Sarver, PA (June 14, 2013) John Garvin Jr. entered #1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night as the Budweiser Points leader in the Precise Late Models but hadn’t been to Sheetz Victory yet in 2013.  After taking the lead from Brian Swartzlander on lap two, Garvin was virtually unchallenged on his way to Sheetz Victory Lane.  Eric Williams and Carl Bowser put on a thrilling show through lapped traffic in the Peoples TWP Sprint feature that was stopped thrice by red flags for flips by Jack Sodeman Jr., Dennis Wagner and Dan Kuriger; all three walked away!  Despite the spirited challenge by Bowser, Williams trotted into Victory Lane for his second career win and first of 2013.  Defending Track Champions Brian Swartzlander and Corey McPherson dominated the Diehl Mods and Pic-A-Part Sportsman features respectively; both from the inside pole.  In between the features, the skies lit up like the Fourth of July with another thrilling fireworks display from the pyrotechnic maniacs at Legendary Entertainment!
