Sarver, PA (September 28, 2019) Make no mistake, there is a lot of season left for the World of Outlaws NoS Energy Sprint Cars and points leader Brad Sweet. However, the way in which Saturday night's Commonwealth Clash unfolded may represent a moment that helped propel Sweet to a championship should he be able to hold off Donny Schatz the rest of the way. Sweet started on the pole of the 35 lap main event and quickly bolted to the lead while never looking back in the $10,000 victory.

Alongside Sweet was Schatz who early on made Sweet's job of preserving the lead difficult by clinging to his tail tank and taking looks underneath for a chance to take the top spot. Following an early caution for Clay Riney and AJ Flick who went over the turn two banking, the two leaders broke away from the pack behind them which included a hotly contested battle for the third spot between Shane Stewart, Ian Madsen and David Gravel. Meanwhile, Sheldon Haudenschild moved forward with authority, coming from 14th to the top five, joining the battle up front.

Gravel was able to make his way around Madsen to take the fourth spot, but the battle between the front runners continued until Schatz uncharacteristically slowed on lap 20 and made his way to the infield. The defending series champion was able to fire his car one more time but retired shortly thereafter, giving Stewart the second spot and moving Gravel to the final podium position. Once action got underway again, Sweet made no mistakes, hitting his marks lap in and lap out while maneuvering well in lapped traffic to take his second consecutive Commonwealth Clash victory, his second career win in 19 races at The Action Track.  Meanwhile, with Schatz suffering a dnf, Sweet increased his advantage to 40 points in the series standings, taking full advantage of the opportunity the night brought him.

Randy Sterling took care of business in the Allegheny Sprint Tour RaceSaver 305 Sprint Car main event, holding off a hard charging Jake Gomola in the process while taking his first career Sprint Car victory. Gomola and Kyle Kolwell rounded out the podium in the 20 lap main event which saw three cautions.

Racing returns to Lernerville Speedway October 17-19 for the annual Steel City Stampede featuring over a dozen divisions of racing including the Fab4 Revved up with Marburger Farm Dairy.
