HOVIS WEEKLY SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS FUND FOR SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODIFIEDS TO SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE IN 2020

(Pulaski, PA)...With the 2019 season winding down, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance Directors have already begun to diligently prepare for the 2020 season. One exciting announcement will be an increase to the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Weekly Series Championship for the RUSH Sportsman Modified division.

The 2020 RUSH Sportsman Modified Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Weekly Series Champion will take home $3,500 with an increase in all 20 points-paying positions! Each points-paying position will increase from $100-$500, which represents a 36% increase over the 2019 points fund, and marks the second increase since the Series debuted in 2014! (See breakdown below.)

"It's really been amazing to watch our RUSH Sportsman Modified division grow and evolve since its inception," stated Series Director Vicki Emig. "From just 10 cars at the inaugural event at Sharon Speedway to an average of more than a full field of cars each of the past four years! We already are hearing of new racers that will be joining our Sportsman ranks in 2020. Through the continued strong support of our sponsors, racers, and speedways, we are really excited to be able to increase our weekly championship program some 36% for our Sportsman Modified racers in 2020, pushing the total amount of cash point funds and valuable product they will be able to compete for to well over $50,000!"

Seven different speedways throughout a three-state area, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia scheduled events in 2019. Sharon Speedway will continue to run the class on a weekly basis, which has been the division's home base since inception. Sharon has been under 20 cars on only four nights total over the past four years! Lernerville Speedway, Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway, Raceway 7, Expo Speedway, Dog Hollow Speedway, and Tyler County Speedway scheduled events in 2019 and are expected to return to the schedule in 2020.

In addition to the Hovis Weekly Series Championship, the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds also compete for the Hovis Touring Series Champion, the Hovis Futures Cup Championship, and new in 2019- the "Wheelman" Championship based on the nightly non-winners race at Sharon.

The richest RUSH Sportsman Modified race in history will be coming up at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway on October 4-5 for the second annual "Betsy Kriegisch Memorial", which will be a Hovis Touring Series event. The event started at $1,000 to-win, $150 to-start and has grown with contributions coming in daily. Stay tuned for more details.

Chas Wolbert, Rob Kristyak, and defending champion Garrett Krummert are currently involved in a fierce battle for the $3,000 Hovis Weekly Series Championship this year, which will conclude with the final event at Lernerville Speedway on October 19.

The 2019 "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance at Sharon Speedway saw a record $23,000 of valuable product distributed to eligible racers. Also, more than $3,000 in product giveaways have been added to the "Betsy Kriegisch Memorial" for drivers that compete on Friday night AND contribute at least $50 to increasing the purse.
