Lernerville’s Firecracker a Five-Day Festival of Racing, Bull Riding, and Country Rock in 2024

BATAVIA, Ohio (June 17, 2024) – The 18th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel has become a five-day extravaganza with the addition of a rockin’ country concert, SEBRA Bulls and Barrels showdown, and more in 2024!

Previously a three-day speed festival featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and a wide variety of fan friendly events, the new and improved Firecracker Fest presented by Big River Steel and Butler County Tourism will now feature even more entertainment options and will stretch out over five full nights of action on and off the track!

The expanded format of the newly rebranded Firecracker Fest presented by Big River Steel and Butler County Tourism will give event campers and community members even more to see and do before the racing starts on Thursday, June 20. Not only will there be more entertainment at night, but there will also be opportunities for fans to enjoy more activities during the daytime in 2024 courtesy of Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in historic downtown Saxonburg.

Firecracker Fest kicks off Tuesday, June 18 with country singer/ songwriter Drew Baldridge in concert at 7:00 PM. The Patoka, Illinois native will be bringing his hits to the Firecracker crowd for all to enjoy.

The dust really starts to kick up on Wednesday, June 19, with SEBRA Extreme Bull Riding presented by Puryear Cattle Company. An action-packed event with professional bull riding and barrel racing starting at 6:00 PM that will be followed by a live DJ to close out the night.

Also new for 2024, kids and adults of all ages can enjoy daily activities including bocce, horseshoes, yard golf, cornhole, disc golf, giant bowling, all kinds of food and drink and more during Firecracker Days at nearby Sprankle Woods, as well as tours of downtown Saxonburg including a stop at Spankle’s Neighborhood Market to stock up on all your camping needs! Shuttles will be departing to and from Lernerville from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM June 18-22.

Expanding the nearly weeklong event, the Dirt Racing Experience will be on site both Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM providing ride along and driving experiences. Fans interested in riding in a two-seater with a real race car driver behind the wheel, or racing a real, professionally prepared race car can log on to https://raceondirt.com/ to schedule their experience(s) in advance.

Last, but certainly not least, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage to do battle for three straight nights culminating in the 100-lap, $50,000 to win 18th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel finale.

On Thursday and Friday, the field will be split into two groups based on pill draw, with each group competing in a full program of Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and their respective 25-lap, $5,000 to win A-Main.

The combined points from Thursday and Friday’s preliminary events will determine the line-ups for Saturday’s Heat Races. Saturday’s program will be highlighted by Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $50,000 to-win 18th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by Big River Steel.

The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model Series will be in action again for their $20,000-to-win, Bill Emig Memorial. The RUSH Late Model Series will contest in Time Trials on Thursday, Heat Races on Friday, and close out the weekend with B-Mains, Non-Qualifiers Race, and the $20,000-to-win Bill Emig Memorial on Saturday.
