ACTION TRACK RECAP: MORRELL STEALS THE SHOW; NORRIS WINS A THRILLER IN LATES; KRUMMERT GETS THIRD WIN; SCHNEIDER BOYS PUT ON SHOW IN STOCKS

Sarver, PA (August 2, 2024) After early morning showers, the sunshine pierced through the clouds and Dan Bauman and crew did a fantastic job getting the action track ready for a great night of racing. Big Rig Night presented by Mike's Truck Service and Sales bought us multiple trucks from the surrounding areas.

A quick night of action started with invader, Conner Morrell, dominating all 25 laps in the People Natural Gas Sprint Car feature to pick up his second career win at Lernerville. Michael Norris used a quick, maneuver, crossing under the white flag to get into Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane for the seventh time this year in the Precise Racing Products Super Late Models. Garrett Krummert fended off Rex King Jr. on a lap 22 restart to win in the Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds. In the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks, it was slidejob city between Christian and Chris Schneider, with Christian getting win number four with only two Fab4 Fridays left.

Conner Morrell Dominates All 25 Laps in Peoples Sprints

Bradenton, Florida's, Conner Morrell and Danny Kuriger, brought the 18-car field into the Sprankles Neighborhood Market Start Zone to begin feature action for the night. Morrell led the first lap with a quick caution halting the field. On the single file restart, Morrell would continue to run good solid laps out front while Kuriger and Brandon Spithaler would battle for second. A.J. Flick and Michael Bauer running in the top five early.

Two more cautions on lap seven and ten would bunch the field back up and then give Morrell clean air to continue to set a quick pace out front. Just past the halfway point, Logan McCandless would make his way into the top five passing both Bauer and Flick. McCandless would slowly track down Spithaler for third. Morrell would pull out to a three second advantage as Spithaler would take second from Kuriger with four to go but it was too little, too late.

"Track conditions were amazing and my crew did a great job setting up the car," Morrell explained as he would get his second career win at Lernerville. He won the 2022 Steel City Stampede.

Michael Norris Slices and Dices to His Seventh Win in Precise Lates

Another invader joined us on Friday as Zaneville, Ohio driver, Todd Brennan and Jared Miley would bring the field to life for the 25-lap dash to the checkered in the Precise Racing Products Super Late Models. Brennan would lead early as Miley, Alex Ferree, Colton Flinner and, seventh starting, Michael Norris, would all run in the top five behind your leader. Miley slowed slow coming off of turn four, bringing out the caution on lap 10. Under caution, Logan Zarin, Levi Yetter and last week's winner, John Garvin Jr., would take their cars pit side, ending the nights.

On the restart, Brennan would continue to lead as Ferree and Norris would try to keep pace. On lap eight, Ferree and Norris would pressure Brennan for the lead, setting up a fantastic finish. Ferree would do everything he could to pass Brennan as Norris remained within striking distance. Coming off of turn four to get the white flag, Norris would use high side momentum to go around Ferree and the dip down to the inside of Brennan to take the lead heading into turn one. Norris would lead the final circuit to pick up his seventh win of the season.

Garrett Krummert Adds to Points Lead in Diehl Mods

The Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds made the way onto the action track for the 25-feature, as Austin Eyler and Steve Feder would roll the field to green. Feder would lead as Eyler would bring out a caution on the front straightaway on lap two. Third starting, Garrett Krummert would join Feder on the front row for the restart. Krummert would take the lead down the back straightaway. Rex King Jr., while Steve Slater and Will Thomas battle for third. Contact between Slater and Thomas would bring out a caution on lap four.

King would find his way to second on the restart as Jeremiah Shingledecker pressured Feder for third and thirteenth starting, Dave Murdick would make his way into the top five. Krummert pulled out to a 2.5-second advantage as he encountered lap traffic just past the halfway point. Ayden Cipriano spun off of turn two, setting up a three lap dash to the finish. King pressured Krummert for the final three laps but Krummert would hang on to pick up his third win of the season.

Slidejob City Between the Schneider Boys in Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks

Ten Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks would end the night with their 20-lap feature. Chris Schneider would take the early lead from Jason Fosnaught as Cody Koteles, Mike Miller and Tyler Schneider battled tooth and nail for third. Points leader, Christian Schneider had a twelve point lead over Chris Schneider heading into the feature. Koteles would pull into the infield on lap seven and then a caution would wave on lap nine setting up a double file restart.

Chris would choose the outside on the restart, while Christian would restart fourth and find his way to second before a caution for Joey Zambotti and Mike Bordt on the back straightaway. It was Schneider vs Schneider for the final ten laps, as Chris would pull away but with four laps to go Christian would throw a slidejob into turn one and that would lead to slidejob after slidejob between the Schneider boys. Christian led with one to go and blocked Chris's slider into turn one. Christian defended the preferred line through the middle of three and four and win the battle and take one stop closer to winning the war of the 2024 Track Championship with his third straight win and fifth of the season!
